- מְלַגch. sam( מָלַג (cmp. Syr. מלג, P. Sm. 213 to pluck, to strip), to pluck (cmp. Pesh. Deut. 23:2 6). Gen. R. s. 45, beg. (expl. מְלוֹג) מה את מָלֵיג מְלִיג Ar. whatever thou pluckest, is plucked; (ed. כמה דתימא מְלוֹג מְלוֹג as you say, ‘pluck, pluck); Y.Yeb.VII, 8a bot. כמה דאת אמר מליג מליג (corr. acc.).
